Teaching pronunciation

Teaching pronunciation is one the most controversial issues in ESL/EFL classes and many teachers try to avoid this intentionally or unintentionally.

Today I'm going to share two very interesting teaching pronunciation videos which will really change our attitude towards teaching pronunciation and hopefully it'll give us some food for thought and give us confidence to teach pronunciation in our classes.

In the first video Adrian Underhill shows us how to present phonemes physically and visibly.

In the second video Judy B. Gilbert, is an internationally respected authority on teaching English pronunciation, a teacher, teacher trainer, and author, suggests practical solutions and outline seven concepts in teaching pronunciation.

Welcome to my blog

Hello!

This is Akther. First of all, I'd like to introduce myself briefly. I was born in Chittagong a beautiful port city situated on the Bay of Bengal surrounded by mountains and the mighty river Karnapulli.

Now I'm living in Moscow. I came to Russia more than 4 years ago and now I can speak Russian fairly well as I've been learning Russian since my arrival.

I like reading, surfing Internet, learning new technology, travelling, bicycling, cooking, and collecting gadgets.

I like roaming around the Moscow city and its beautiful parks, boulevard, narrow streets, and facade. I went to a very beautiful park named Kolomenskya near Moscow river two weeks ago.
